A fur coat that was worn by a woman on the Titanic and was nearly donated to Bosnian refugees was worth thousands of pounds at auction.

Mabel Bennett, a steward on the ill-fated ship, survived the 1912 disaster and wore the coat in a lifeboat.

It was left to her niece who almost gave it away before learning of its value.
